Presented by Maggie Penner and Emily Olsen
By sharing personal stories about climate change and the feelings it brings up, we learn to work through what seems unmanageable.
In this workshop, we will use journaling, activities, and discussions to explore the impacts gratitude, resilience, and community can have on climate anxiety.
Led by Maggie Penner, a Penn State senior studying psychology and sustainability leadership, researching the impacts of mindfulness on anxiety in adolescence and teaching the importance of connection to nature and community.
Emily Olsen, co-lead, is a Ph.D. Candidate in the College of Education at Penn State. Her focus area is Science Education, specifically researching the intersection of emotions surrounding climate change and environmental education.
This event is appropriate for ages 16+.
