Wasted Potential Short Film Release

April 20, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Thursday, April 20 – 7:00 pm

Inspired by my time in college, these two broke, stoned and happy friends realize that
sometimes it wins to be a loser. This adventure comedy flips the typical stoner flick onto its
head, by featuring two vivid, queer, female characters.

Emmy and Alex are late with the rent again and their roommate Benson has given them an
ultimatum, pay up or get out! Hoping to ease the tension, the girls decide to clean the
apartment.

In the basement of their home, an old, remodeled frat house, Emmy and Alex find VHS tapes
of the previous brother’s hazing rituals. While watching one tape, they recognize one of the
freshmen as conservative Pennsylvania Senator Marv Pekar.

Together they pick a battle with their biggest enemy: a mature frat boy playing pretend
politician, Republican Senator Marv Pekar.

The mystery tape echoing questionable moans and subtly homo-erotic remarks, is the key to
Emmy and Alex’s financial issues. The friends attempt to blackmail the senator and chaos
ensues in the final epic, party, climax of the film.

When all is said and done, Emmy and Alex learn that sometimes, the easy way isn’t so easy.
